An incredible kickoff to the Mini Vinnie Bini as Blanket Undercover artists Megan Mantia and Leone Anne Reeves gave a public talk about their recent Year of Dreams installments at the Running of the Bulls, Festa Redentore & The Venice Biennale. Held at Maker Village KC, the first location to open (2!) Mini Vinnie Bini installations, here is some documentation from the event thanks to Thomas R. Mason IV.
Maker Village KC’s mission:
“Our long-term goal is to lower the barriers into the maker movement for Kansas Citians. Our first step toward that goal is to rehab an old commercial building we purchased at 31st and Cherry, where we plan to open a community workshop providing people access to commercial woodworking and metal working equipment for prototyping, repair and reuse. MVKC will be geared to inspire and enable entrepreneurs, craftsmen/women and artists. Our plan is to open on SATURDAYS in late 2015, and we will be releasing a calendar of workshops around the same time. Thanks for your support and patience as we build this company from the ground up, literally. If you ever want to pop in and say hello, just drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.” —Nick & Sam
